Starting this Friday, airports across Washington, Montana, Idaho, and the rest of the U.S. will be bustling with Thanksgiving travelers. Airport officials are offering suggestions to help make the journey smoother.
Travelers are advised to arrive at the airport two hours before their plane boards. It’s important to get to the ticket counters and TSA lines as soon as possible.
Officials remind travelers to empty water bottles before security and avoid wrapping gifts and packages. They also suggest removing all electronics from carry-ons when going through TSA lines.
Signing up for alerts from your airline and downloading the airline’s app can keep you informed if any changes occur.
For those flying this Thanksgiving, the TSA advises that anything that can be spilled, spread, sprayed, pumped, or poured and is larger than 3.4 ounces must be in a checked bag. Items allowed through security include baked goods, meats, stuffing, casseroles, mac ‘n cheese, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
More than 18 million people are expected to be screened from Tuesday, November 26, to Monday, December 2.
