SPOKANE, Wash. — A former employee of Page 42 bookstore is facing charges of first-degree voyeurism after allegedly hiding a camera in a women’s bathroom at the store.

According to court documents, James Peterson, 26 made his first court appearance on Thursday after the incident, which was reported yesterday. Court documents said that another employee discovered the camera hidden under the back of a toilet seat. When shown the camera, Peterson reportedly said, “I made a huge mistake,” and later admitted this was the second time he had hidden a camera in the same location.

NonStop reached out to Page 42 bookstore but declined to comment.

Peterson was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 4.
