POST FALLS, Idaho – A new ordinance is being proposed in Post Falls to protect snowplow drivers and limit disruptions to city government operations.
The City of Post Falls discussed the ordinance, which aims to clarify when police can be called for disruptions involving city workers, especially snowplow drivers.
The ordinance expansion was requested by police for clearer guidelines on pursuing charges when threats are made.
The penalty for these offenses in Idaho can include up to six months in county jail, fines up to $1,000, probation, restitution, and community service, depending on the situation.
The city council reviewed the ordinance for the first time and decided to table the discussion to further examine the language.
