SPOKANE, Wash. – On Wednesday morning, Gonzaga Prep students will be busy loading cars and local food bank trucks with over 130,000 pounds of food. This effort aims to support 2,200 people through the holiday season.

Since November 8, prep students have collected food in neighborhoods, outside grocery stores, and at local business offices for their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Prep is also participating in The Great Ignatian Challenge this year, a national food drive competition among nearly two dozen Jesuit high schools. In 2022, G-Prep took the top prize by collecting 127,131 pounds of food, surpassing the next closest school by over 20 pounds per student.
