COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – A fire claimed two lives in the Mica Flats area Sunday.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) responded to reports of an explosion and fire at the home, and found a home completely consumed in flame.
The fire was extinguished after several hours of fighting the flames and a limited search of the property was conducted. During this initial search, a victim was discovered.
Hours later, a subsequent search uncovered a second victim in the rubble. The identities of the victims have not been released.
