SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire Department responded to an increase in opioid deaths across Washington by reminding members of the public to carry Narcan.
According to the WA Department of Health, a sustained increase in overdoses began in August and continued through October.
This comes after Mayor Lisa Brown in response to the opioid crisis in June and a policy became law.
The fire department reminded the public that community members can carry Narcan. Additional information on carrying naloxone can be found on the Department of Health’s website.
