POST FALLS, Idaho – Hundreds of families in eastern Washington and north Idaho received a special Thanksgiving treat this morning.
Birdie’s Pie Shop in Post Falls offered free pies to the community. These pies were made but never picked up, providing a delightful surprise for many.
“The Forgottens. An annual tradition where sad, left behind pies transform to an answered prayer,” said Birdie’s Pie Shop on Facebook. “Pie cures. We just know it. You do too. So, are you ready? We’ve combined all the Forgottens to one place. Behind our Post Falls shop – in the cooler trailer. Share away! Give them to those in need, folks who are working and need a pick me up today, share with someone special who needs #piemagic – maybe you’re that person? We love you.”
More than 500 pies were distributed to first responders, hospitals, and families.
Birdie’s Pie Shop’s generosity brought joy to many in the area, making the holiday season a bit sweeter.
