2018 is officially the Year of the Dog and to celebrate SCRAPS is looking for the perfect pet parents for six of our puppies but we need your help!
The mother of six shepherd mixes was shot and the puppies were found when they were just a few weeks old. They were brought to SCRAPS and are currently in foster care.
For the past two weeks, potential parents have been submitting short essays on the SCRAPS Facebook page about why they would like a new family member . The essays have been reviewed and are now open for voting by the public.
“Many of these essays are just heartbreaking,” said Janet Dixon, Special Programs Manager. “Many people have lost their beloved pets and are looking to welcome a new family member into their home. Others are looking for a puppy to help provide companionship and comfort to a current member of their family.” The public is going have very difficult time choosing, but their input is vital to select the perfect pet parents for these adorable dogs. To vote, log onto the SCRAPS Facebook page.
The voting will close on Friday February 2nd and the top six candidates will gather at SCRAPS on Saturday, February 3rd at 10 a.m. to learn who gets first choice of the litter based on the number of votes they receive. All pet parents will need to pay the $150 puppy adoption fee that includes spay/neutering, vaccinations, license and microchip.
