Basically: Based on a series of novels written by forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, the show revolves around Dr Brennan and her team at the Jeffersonian Institute who use their varied scientific skills to help Special Agent Booth and the FBI solve murders.
While some law enforcement techniques (including interrogations and detective work) play a part in solving the crimes, it is science that takes center stage in these investigations. A forensic anthropologist, artist, entomologist, pathologist, archaeologist, mechanical engineer, and psychologist make up the team and often utilize all of their varied skill sets to solve the cases. The personal relationships between the main cast members, most notable Dr Brennan and Agent Booth, also play a big part in the series.
