After a trip to the beach turned into items being stolen, including a four year old boy’s prosthetic leg, several individuals have offered to help buy a replacement.

Liam McFarland was born without a fibula or calf bone in his right leg. Taking off his “Star Wars” decorated custom leg, Liam used an older leg to go into the water, but when the family returned to the beach all of their belongings were gone.

Costs of a new custom leg can run up to $10,000, not including the travel expenses for doctor visits and fittings. However, as of Tuesday a GoFundMe account has raised more than $15,000 dollars to pay for a new leg and to help with the extra expenses. But that’s not all! Hundreds of people have reached out to help the family replace the leg, including Robert Herjavec of ABC’s “Shark Tank, as well as several prosthetic crafting firms.

Any donations that are left over will be saved for future surgeries and even sending him to a camp for child amputees. Liam McFarland will soon be able to get back to taking karate lessons and playing soccer, thanks to an overwhelming amount of support.
