SPOKANE, Wash. — Alex’s Lemonade Stand, in partnership with Northwestern Mutual, will be hosting an event at Cochinito Taqueria on Nov. 16 to raise money for children fighting cancer.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand has a mission “to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer.”

Since their first lemonade stand in 2000 they showed that “when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade!” They have raised $250 million so far to help fund more than 1,000 research projects and have created a Travel For Care program to help support families of children receiving treatment.

Now, they have teamed up with Northwestern Mutual to help give children the chance to live life to the fullest. They are raising funds to help accelerate the search for a cure to pediatric cancer while providing support for families.

“Northwestern Mutual is committed to giving all kids the chance to live life to the fullest by accelerating the search for a cure to pediatric cancer while providing support to families battling the disease and survivors struggling with treatment side effects.”

On Nov. 16 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., 15% of all food purchases at Cochinito Taqueria will go towards fighting childhood cancer. Also, Eastern Washington football player, Efton Chism will be in attendance at the event.

Chism is “dedicating [his] season to kids with cancer.” He is working with Alex’s Lemonade Stand and Northwestern Mutual to help get the word out and raise money.

From 7 p.m. – 8 p.m., Chism will be at Cochinito Taqueria signing autographs and taking pictures, so make sure to wear your Eagle gear!

If you want to support a good cause and eat great food, head over to Cochinito Taqueria on Nov. 16 to raise money for the Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

Now many people may not be able to attend, and that’s okay! If you would like to contribute, you can donate online on the Alex’s Lemonade Stand website.
