Animal causes outage leaving almost 4,000 without power in Deer Park

DEER PARK, Wash. — Avista Utilities confirmed the cause of the power outage that left almost 4,000 people without power on Wednesday.

According to Avista, an animal caused the outage. The utility company did not specify what kind of animal or how the damage occurred.

The outage occurred on April 10 around 11:50 a.m. and affected 3,900 customers, according to Avista. The last set of customers restored was around 1:35 p.m.
