SPOKANE, Wash. – Avista announced that more Washington residents will qualify for lowering their monthly energy bill starting in October.
The new income limits have given a wider range of monthly discounts to include higher incomes which could add 40k more residents to be eligible for the program.
Currently the program has just over 50k customers in Washington that are already participating.
Avista says that the new eligibility limits have increased across nearly all of Avista’s Washington service territories and applying has become easier than ever before.
“So many people who qualify don’t know they can get help,” said Solberg. “College students, seniors, young families and people who’ve generally been excluded from assistance in the past are now able to access relief with My Energy Discount.”
