LAKE PEND OREILLE, Idaho — A bald eagle was illegally shot and killed near Lake Pend Oreille, and Idaho Fish and Game officials are seeking info about the incident.
According to the Idaho Fish and Game Department, the eagle was found near Sunnyside Road, close to Fisherman Island, between Dec. 24 and Dec. 26. Authorities said the bird was recovered alive but had to be euthanized after a medical examination revealed severe injuries. A necropsy showed steel BBs were embedded throughout its body.
