SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s back! The battle for the rubber chicken will take place Wednesday night at Spokane Arena between Ferris High School and Lewis & Clark.

As you show up to the arena there will be two separate GSL pass entrances at the arena. One line will be for students and one line will be for family.

If you don’t have a GSL pass, tickets for adults will be $10 and $5 for students. If you need to purchase a ticket ahead of this game, go to TicketWest.

Girls will compete at 5:30 p.m. and boys will play at 7:30 p.m.

But as they take the court, each team came up with a theme for the game.

Lewis & Clark’s theme this year is the “intergalactic chuck,” a tale about chuck undertaking an exciting adventure into space and his exploration through the galaxy and beyond!

Whereas Ferris’ theme is “reviving chuck.” The team agreed on this theme because they get to honor their community heroes such as firefighters, law enforcement, paramedics and emergency room doctors.

As the game starts, eight to 10 ASB students from other schools will act as judges for the game.

They will take notes throughout the evening on fan energy, cheer routines and other factors that can vary on a year-by-year basis.

This year’s scoring will be on measured on a 0-5 scale in three categories for eight quarters on crowd attendance, crowd volume and cord organization. Another four categories are scored on a scale of 0-10 in terms of theme, sportsmanship, drill team performance for each school and cheer team performance for each school.

The third quarter of the boys game is expected to be EXTRA loud because both fanbases can earn double points for their energy!

For more information about this year’s Rubber Chicken and year’s prior, go to the Spokane Public School website.

To watch the fight for the Rubber Chicken live, it will be streamed on SWX beginning at 5:30 p.m.!
