OLYMPIA, Wash. – Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Bob Ferguson (D) took another swing at fellow candidate former US Congressman Dave Reichert (R) on Thursday.

In a social media post, Ferguson shared a recording which purportedly contains statements from Reichert denying the human impact of climate change. The attorney general went on to draw a connection between Reichert and former President Donald Trump (R).

“Behind closed doors in front of Trump-supporting audiences, Dave Reichert reveals his extreme views and positions. Just like Donald Trump, Congressman Dave Reichert rejects the science of human-made climate change,” Ferguson said.

NonStop Local has reached out to the Reichert campaign for a response and will update this article with that information when it becomes available.

According to The Seattle Times, Reichert was named one of the most environmentally conscious Republicans in the US Congress in 2008, and even sought then US Congressman Jay Inslee’s cosponsorship on an Alpine Lakes Wilderness conservation bill.
