STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – An investigation is underway after the body of a man missing since November was found, according to the Stevens County Sheriff’s office.
Jude Schneider, 58, was reported missing after leaving his home on November 18, 2024. His car was discovered over an embankment off Highway 20 in Pondera County on Friday.
Despite finding the car, search crews initially could not locate Schneider due to snow covering the ground.
On Monday, searchers found Schneider’s body a short distance from his car.
The cause of his death remains unknown at this time.

COLVILLE, Wash. – The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing 58-year-old man with mental health issues.
According to the sheriff’s office, Jude Schneider, 58, left his home on Nov. 18 and has not been seen since. Deputies said he was driving a white 2008 Ford F250 with Washington license plate C34651J.
While Schneider has mental health concerns, deputies noted that he has not exhibited signs of violence or danger.
