SPOKANE, Wash. – The body that was found in the Spokane River during a robbery investigation has been identified by Spokane County Medical Examiners as the father who went missing in March.

Alexander Piceno, 28, died after he drowned in the Spokane River from suicide according to the medical examiner.

Piceno, a father of two, went missing in March after he was last seen at the Globe Bar & Grill laughing with friends and appeared to be in a good mood and then walked down Division with a group of people.

Police discovered Piceno’s body while investigating evidence in a bear spray robbery that happened in April.

The dive team asked Avista to lower the water levels which uncovered Piceno’s body.
