SEATTLE, Wash. — More than 33,000 unionized machinists voted to approve a new contract offered by Boeing, effectively ending their 7-week strike according to multiple news outlets.
According to multiple news outlets, including KIRO 7, machinists accepted the company’s latest proposal with 59% approval. The vote took place earlier today, bringing an end to the strike that began on September 13 and had halted production for nearly two months.
The strike, which began on September 13, forced Boeing to suspend manufacturing, costing the company an estimated $6 billion in lost revenue during the past quarter.
