Boil water advisory issued in Harrington

HARRINGTON, Wash. – The City of Harrington is advising residents to boil water after portions of the city’s water system went dry Tuesday.

According to the city, a pressure loss event caused by motor failure in a primary well led to the advisory.

“When a pressure loss event occurs, it is possible that contamination from the environment or from human or animal waste may be drawn into the water system,” the city said.

It is not clear when the boil water advisory will end, but the city says it will notify residents as soon as water is safe to drink without boiling.
