COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — After months of workshopping solutions to a growing budget crisis, the Coeur d’Alene Public Schools Board voted Monday to close Borah Elementary School.

During a regular board meeting on Monday, trustees were visibly upset about the circumstances that they believe forced their hands.

The board still needs to work out the details of closing the elementary school, but regardless of their next steps Borah Elementary will be closed for the 2024-25 school year.

Students will be moved to other schools and staff will change positions throughout the rest of the district.
