A talented schoolboy has set a new world record after making a stunning portrait of Queen Elizabeth II using 3,000 Rubik’s Cubes.
Henil Soni, 11, took less than an hour to put together his stunning mosaic creation at his school in Harwich, Essex.
The orange and blue portrait depicts Queen Elizabeth II and follows his other pieces of former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The record for the largest mosaic made from Rubik’s Cubes was previously set by a seven-year-old from India in 2023 – using 1,040 cubes.
Henil’s piece was confirmed by a Golden Book of World Records adjudicator on December 6.
Mum Priyanka, 35, said: “He chose the Queen as she has brought so much good to the UK and the charities, she and the Royals have supported, which help children.
“I am so proud of him, and he says everyone has been asking him about it at school and calling him the Rubik’s cube hero.
“I also invited Prince William but we were too late. I didn’t know I had to plan in one year in advance.”
Henil converts normal photographs into a pixelated drawing which can be divided into quadrants.
The creation of Prime Minister Sunak cost the family nearly £2,000 after his mother Priyanka struck up a deal with a supplier in India for 89p per cube and delivery.
Priyanka previously said: “There are already 2,000 Rubik’s cubes in my house and no one is allowed to go in the front room while Henil creating.
“We’ve had to move all the sofas out because the portraits are too big and we don’t have enough space.”
The mother-of-two told how Henil, from Harwich, Essex first became a whiz at Rubik’s cubes when he was five, watching YouTube videos on how to complete them.
He can solve a standard Rubik’s cube in just a few seconds, and more complicated cubes like a 12-sided only take him about three minutes to complete.
