PULLMAN, Wash. – Avista workers accidentally hit a natural gas line at about 1pm Thursday, requiring service to the surrounding area to be shut off.

According to Avista, 75 customers are currently without natural gas and crews will need to repressurize the system before service can resume.

As of 4:30pm, Avista does not have an exact timeline for when the problem will be resolved, but the company is confident that it will be fixed some time on Thursday.

The exact cause of the line breaking is still under investigation.

This is a developing story. More information will appear as available.
