Brush fire near Dishman Hills forces evacuations

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Firefighters are working to put out a brush fire that sparked late Monday afternoon south of the Dishman Hills Natural Area in Spokane Valley.

The fire, called the Cimarron Fire by officials, is forcing level 1 evacuations south of Appleway Boulevard, east South Park Road, west of Dishman Mica Road and north of 44th Avenue.

Those living in that area are encouraged to be ready to leave.
