RICHLAND, Wash. — State Route 240 has reopened in both directions.

State Route 24 near the Vernita Bridge is closed due to a nearby brush fire.
According to a tweet from the Washington State Patrol (East) (WSDOT), the brush fire has closed all lanes from the junction of State Route 241 around milepost 30 to the junction of State Route 243 near the Vernita Bridge.
Fire crews are currently fighting the fire and there is no estimated time n when the road will reopen.
