Bus bench hits Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery in car crash

SPOKANE, Wash. – A car crash near the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery building Friday night caused damage and minor injuries.

According to the organization, the car crashed and then left the area, leaving significant damage to the side of the building on East Sprague Avenue.

“While there is extensive damage to the exterior of our building, no staff or children were injured or impacted. We will continue business as usual as we work to have our beautiful home repaired,” Executive Director Amy Knapton Vega said.

Updated Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. – According to the Spokane Fire Department, a car hit a bus stop bench, which the swiped the Vanessa Behan building. Two people were sent to the hospital after the crash with minor injuries.
