ATHOL, Idaho – A bus crashed into a car and slammed into a power pole on Friday.
According to Idaho State Police, the crash took place at around 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 54 and Clagstone Road.
The bus failed to stop at a stopsign according to police, and collided with a Honda Civic, sending both vehicles into a power pole.
Athol Elementary School students were on board during the crash.
“One student was reported to have a cut lip and no other injuries were reported for any of the bus’s occupants,” state police said.
Both drivers were sent to the hospital. The students were checked for injuries by Kootenai County EMS before another bus picked them up and parents were able to retrieve them at a local church.
