OTTAWA, Canada – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has spoken with President-elect Donald Trump following the announcement of a 25 percent tariff on items from Canada.

Trudeau described the conversation as positive. “It was a good call,” he said to Politico, discussing how the tariffs could impact the connections between the two countries and the flow of goods.

On Truth Social, President-elect Trump shared his plans for his first day in office. “On January 20th, as one of my many first executive orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on all products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous open borders,” he stated.
