Car chase results in 3-car crash, causing traffic delays on U.S. Highway 2

SPOKANE, Wash. – Three cars crashed on U.S. Highway 2 after Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers pursued a suspect.

According to WSP, troopers were chasing a suspect who had stolen a car, and they disengaged from the pursuit before the crash occurred.

The crash took place on the northbound side of U.S. Highway 2 near Lane Park, north of Spokane. Both the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and Spokane Area Traffic reported that northbound lanes are blocked, and traffic is being detoured.

WSDOT added that roadway U.S. Highway 2 is closed on the northbound side and detour will be set up on State Route 206 to Bruce Road. There is still no timetable on when the northbound lanes will open but the southbound side of the U.S. Highway 2 are open.

WSP is at the scene and have reported that there have been injuries as a result of the crash.
