SPOKANE, Wash. – Catholic Charities issued a statement regarding a on June 14.
A spokesperson from Catholic Charities stated that police responded to a shooting report at Mother Teresa Haven this afternoon. The facility, owned and operated by Catholic Charities Eastern Washington, was placed on lockdown.
The spokesperson confirmed there were no injuries and indicated uncertainty about those involved.
“Our top priority is the safety of our staff and residents. As a precautionary measure, nearby housing units, including Sisters Haven and Rising Strong, were also placed on lockdown until further details emerged,” a Catholic Charities spokesperson said. “We are currently providing onsite counseling and support for residents. We appreciate the SPD’s swift and thorough response and are grateful that there were no injuries.”
The Spokane Police Department responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 1900 block of North Holy Name at 2:42 p.m. on June 14. SFCC confirmed the school is in lockdown while the Spokane Police Department search for a suspect.
SPD is asking you to please avoid the area as this is an active investigation. SPD said a young group was in the parking lot and dispersed after the shooting. Officers could be looking for multiple suspects.
