SPOKANE, Wash. – A 19-year-old accused of intentionally leaving skid marks while riding a Lime Scooter on a Spokane Pride mural has had his charges dropped.
and court documents detailed the defacement of the mural which happened in June.
According to the documents, Ruslan Turko used a Lime Scooter to leave skid marks on the mural and yelled “f–k you f—-t” at a passerby.
On July 31, the Spokane County deputy prosecutor overseeing the case requested Turko’s charges be dismissed. Spokane County Superior Court Judge Dean Chuang accepted the motion for dismissal.
The group was first arrested after Spokane police observed the interaction on surveillance video at the Washington Street and Spokane Falls Boulevard intersection.
The incident occurred just a due to a previous defacement.
and immediately made the area of the mural a ‘no-ride zone.’
“All of us at Lime condemn these vile acts in no uncertain terms. At a time when our teams at Lime are beginning pride celebrations around the globe, it is disturbing to see the hate taking place in Spokane,” said Hayden Harvey, the Director of Government Relations at Lime.
Lime Scooter went on to then sponsor Spokane Pride in their parade.
The status of the charges for the other two people involved in the incident is unclear.
