Child pulled out of Spokane River, headed to hospital after jumping into water

SPOKANE, Wash. – A search of the Spokane River resulted in a child being pulled out of the water by a dive team on Wednesday evening.

According to the fire department, four children jumped into the water off of a footbridge near the Riverfront Park visitor’s center.

Only three of the children emerged, and a fourth was pulled out of the water after being submerged for over an hour by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office dive team.

The child was headed to the hospital in unknown condition as of 8 pm.
