POST FALLS, Idaho – A new space for families in Post Falls is offering innovative ways to keep children active with the help of their parents.
The Little Gym’s “Mommy and Me” classes are designed to engage both children and their families.
As winter approaches, Chris Goodwin, the owner of The Little Gym, believes it’s a crucial time to keep kids moving.
“With it getting dark and cold out, it’s a perfect time to be getting your kids still moving,” Goodwin said. He explained that these classes are about getting kids excited about exercising with their families.
In the Halloween classes coming up, children can play in costumes, dance around, and let their imagination lead the way.
Goodwin emphasized activities can include listening to music, playing games, and running around together, which can be great for strength, flexibility, and mobility.
The concept of “Mommy and Me” classes is built around 3-Dimensional learning: Get Moving, Brain Boost, and Citizen Kid.
Children are challenged to progress through specific skills in a fun environment, while parents learn how to ensure their child’s safety.
Classes are 45 minutes for younger children and 1 hour for older ones. Participants can expect activities like opening circles, songs, warm-ups, and skill-building stations.
Membership costs $80 for a 12-month commitment or $90 on a month-to-month basis. For more details, families can enroll through here.
