The Spokane City Council is having an emergency order vote on increasing the fluoride in the cities water and a second vote to secure an $4 million grant agreement with the Arcor Foundation to help offset the cost.

The order requires a majority vote of 5 of seven of the council members and isn’t without controversy. Mayor woodward has spoken out saying that this should be put up to a vote but the Spokane City Council President said the WA supreme court has ordered that this decision is supposed to be administrative. Surveys have shown that a majority of the public favors the flouride being added and said that a third of the residence of Spokane thought that the water already had flouride in it.
