CLARK FORK, Idaho – The city of Clark Fork in Bonner County may be out $500,000 after falling victim to a scam.
City officials reported that the funds were mistakenly transferred to an individual pretending to be a construction contract manager.
Upon discovering the scam, the city requested the bank to halt the payment.
Officials are awaiting confirmation on whether the money can be recovered.
The FBI and the Secret Service are currently investigating the incident.
