SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane will host several events to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
According to city officials, the events will take place both leading up to and on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The schedule includes the following:
– Sunday, Jan. 19, 3-5 p.m. — MLK Commemoration Service and Celebration at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 806 West Indiana Avenue.
– Sunday, Jan. 19, 6-7 p.m. — Fireside with Jamie Stacy, hosted by the Spokane NAACP, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 401 West Regina Avenue.
– Monday, Jan. 20, 10-11 a.m. — MLK Day Rally and March at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 West Spokane Falls Boulevard.
– Monday, Jan. 20, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. — MLK Day Resource Fair at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 West Spokane Falls Boulevard.
– Monday, Jan. 20, 12-2 p.m. — MLK Teach-In at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 West Spokane Falls Boulevard.
Each event is free and open to the public.
