SPOKANE, Wash. – An apparent crash left the iconic downtown yellow Riverfront Park sign needing repairs.

Riverfront Park Public Information Officers (RPPI) said a car crashed into the sign on Dec. 16 and have the Spokane Police Department (SPD) investigating exactly what happened.

As of now RPPI says they are collecting estimates on how much and how long it will take to restore the sign to its original condition. This crash came right before the 50th anniversary of the park and the Spokane Expo.

SDP stated that the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police, but do not have information regarding the charges in this case.
