Residents of the South Hill have been experiencing Cool Beans Coffee for years; from when they were located across 44th from Wendy’s, to when they moved over to the Ace Hardware/Rite Aid shopping center on the other side of Regal. They’ve abided by their motto – “Coffee oriented, Community focused” since they first opened up their drive-thru window. And now they are spreading their brand and their unique style to Spokane Valley, with the opening of a second location on South University Road.
To celebrate this awesome news, here are eight quick things you should know about Cool Beans Coffee in Spokane Valley!
Location Location Location
The new location includes a drive-thru (already open!) and a cafe (opening August 17th!). It’s taken over the space previously occupied by Cuppa Joe’s Cafe, in the same shopping center as Just American Desserts. Visitors can stop by from 5:30am to 6:30pm Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 6:30pm on Saturday, and from 6:30am to 6pm on Sunday.
Setting the Scene
Visitors to the new location will definitely notice some big differences between it and the original South Hill stand. Such as the cafe, that immediately welcomes visitors with the scent of coffee and spices in the air and a round of cheerful “hellos” from the staff. It’s decorated with an artsy, charming, bit of rustic, bit of modern feel, and definitely gives the vibe that you’ll want to pull up a chair and stay awhile.

Cool Beans has been offering a range of merchandise for sale – from tumblers to t-shirts to tank tops to hats – for several years now. With the larger space available, they’re able to expand how much merch they carry and how they feature it for buyers’ perusal. One whole corner of the cafe is dedicated to showing off items (which I’ll warn you right now can make it very hard to resist them – PS the stainless steel tumbler is amazing; it’s spill proof and keeps drinks hot or cold for 10-12 hours!).
What’s on the Menu?
While much of the menu remains the same between the South Hill and Spokane Valley locations (so don’t worry, you can get your delicious spiced chai tea latte either place), there will be some new items offered because of the cafe setting. Breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, salads, soups, and deli-style sandwiches will be available throughout the day. There will also be specialty drinks, such as coffee “shots” and those drinks that take more time for correct brewing processes and presentation.
Gone Mobile
The Cool Beans mobile app (download from your app store by searching “Cool Beans Coffee Spokane”) makes it super easy to order your items before you get to either the South Hill or Spokane Valley location. You can pick your drink, pick the time you’ll be there to get it, and even pay online. You can also get alerts on specials and keep a virtual “punch card” toward free drinks!
Deliveries Are Coming
Not quite yet, but sometime in the near-ish future, Cool Beans will start offering delivery services from both the South Hill and the Spokane Valley locations. So if you can’t get out to the coffee stand or the cafe, or you’re having a work meeting and want to hook all of your colleagues up, you can get your drinks delivered right to you.
Embracing the Community
Community has always played a big part in the Cool Beans culture. They’re active on social media, they hold events for the public several times a year, they do fundraisers for organizations and people in the area, and the employees work hard to remember faces, names, and even regular drink orders. Now that they’ll have a bigger space to hold events, you can bet their calendar will fill up with even more great parties, customer education classes, fundraisers, and more.
You’re Invited
And speaking of events, the first big one for the Spokane Valley location will be their Grand Opening Party on August 17th from 4pm to 7pm. There will be live music, latte art demonstrations, a ribbon cutting ceremony, food trucks for tasty eats, and more. It will be the perfect time for existing Cool Beans customers to check out the new location and wish them well, and for new customers to see just what makes this company so unique and special.
