Who:
Garland Sandwich Shoppe
What:
This tiny eatery (five two person tables and a small lunch counter with four stools make up the available seating) located on Garland and Madison just down the block from The Garland Theater has some of the best sandwiches in town.
Seriously.
They’re delicious. You may be thinking, how does one even go wrong with a sandwich? It’s bread and meat and condiments, right? You can’t screw that up.
But there is more to a great sandwich than just a few ingredients thrown together willy-nilly, and the Garland Sandwich Shoppe has figured that out. That’s why their menu includes paninis as well as deli sandwiches, daily specials (the turkey cranberry with cream cheese is particularly delightful), and build-your-own-options. You can go extravagant with a Dubliner (pastrami, Harvarti cheese, spicy mustard, on marble rye) or simple with a peanut butter and jelly. You can also try a salad or a cup of soup to pair with your sandwich or eat on their own.
With so many tasty options to choose from, how can you go wrong at this cozy lunch spot?
