Coeur d’Alene teens arrested for stealing guns from cars

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Two teenagers were arrested after they allegedly stole guns from cars in Coeur d’Alene.

According to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, between Nov. 11 and Nov. 14, officers received six reports of car burglaries in the area of North Courcelles Road and West Hanley Avenue.

The department said investigators began looking into the burglaries by reviewing video footage and were able to identify two suspects, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old. One of the suspects admitted to the crimes and claimed he and others were responsible for additional burglaries that had not yet been reported.

Both suspects were booked into the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center. Police recovered some stolen property, including a handgun, which is linked to unreported auto burglaries.
