SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Colorado man who had stolen a vehicle’s license plate from Colorado.

The deputy had remembered a reported stolen vehicle’s license plate from an earlier Flock Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert for a stolen Chrysler 300.

The deputy confirmed with Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) dispatchers about the stolen plate and car.

The deputy with the assistance of additional deputies pulled the car over and detained the male driver without incident.

The driver was identified by the deputies as 47-year-old Joshua I. Armstrong.

A female who had walked up towards the vehicle was also detained without incident provided testimony and was later released without charges.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Armstrong was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail, pending extradition to Colorado, and for his local misdemeanor warrant, charges of third-degree malicious mischief and two counts of fourth-degree assault.
