SUNCREST, Wash. – A local coffee shop in Suncrest was robbed early Thursday morning, leaving employees to pick up the pieces.
When Dakota Cecil got a call from her coworker early Thursday morning, it wasn’t what she expected, “it changes things up a little bit, and it’s scary.”
An intruder broke into Hot Toddy’s Coffee in Suncrest. Cecil, who has worked at the drive-thru coffee shop for almost a year, said she was nervous after the news.
“I’m working this afternoon. I wanted this guy arrested.”
Cecil said the intruder took muffins, side, and around $15 in quarters, but the real damage was to the shop itself. The intruder damaged the door frame and left the coffee shop a mess.
Cecil said her manager posted on social media to alert the community this had happened. The community rallied, with many commenting on the post that they had seen the man. Cecil herself spotted the man while driving, a testament to the community’s vigilance and unity, “I saw him here on 291”.
The man was arrested on Thursday, Cecil said regardless of the arrest she’ll continue to be on high alert, “it doesn’t change my opinion of Nine Mile Falls but it’s just something we all have to beware of.”
