Congress passes a bill today to prevent a partial government shutdown

Congress passed a bill Thursday that would prevent a partial government shutdown set for this weekend. The bill will also keep federal funds flowing through March 1st to the 8th.

The senate and the house both voted to pass the bill 77-18, and 314-108 respectively.

The bill will now go to President Joe Biden for final approval to become law before the funding expires Friday at midnight.

This is the third stoppage bill since last September as Congress struggles to agree on a full-year government funding bill.
