SPOKANE, Wash. – A Shadle Park High School student remains behind bars after court documents say she stabbed another student last week.

On the morning of Feb. 1, Spokane police responded to a stabbing reported at Shadle Park High School. Spokane Public Schools confirmed in a press conference that four students were involved in a fight that escalated to a stabbing.

According to court documents, a student witness was in the bathroom when she heard several girls talking about fighting another student. The witness said several girls returned to the bathroom and started a fight, hearing one of the girls say, “Oh my god, she stabbed me.”

A Spokane police officer who spoke with the victim at the Sacred Heart emergency room collected multiple pieces of clothing with blood as evidence. This included a pair of jeans, a blazer and a red hoodie.

The victim told police she saw the suspect, CC, start a fight with another student, striking them with a cell phone. The victim took the student to the bathroom to help her with her injury. Court documents said the victim watched CC “jump” the first student, sitting on top of her, punching her repeatedly in the face and kicking her in the legs.

According to court documents, the victim saw CC kick the student multiple times in the head before she intervened. The victim said she pulled CC back, which led to another fight between the two. Court documents say the victim saw something in CC’s hands, followed by a sharp pain in her chest.

CC and another student ran from the bathroom. Witness statements said CC handed the other student the knife used in the stabbing while walking away from the scene. Surveillance video from the school corroborated this interaction.

Spokane police collected multiple knives from students involved in the fight to be used as evidence.

A video released of the incident was given to police, where they observed the fight and stabbing. Court documents say CC was seen holding the knife while the other girls were punching each other.

CC appeared in juvenile court on Feb. 5. A judge ruled she will be held in detention for public safety reasons and potential tampering of witnesses. Her arraignment hearing is scheduled for Feb. 13.
