Deputies continue searching for missing man in Grant County

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The search for a missing Moses Lake man in the O’Sullivan Reservoir area of Grant County continued to a second day on Monday, including efforts from law enforcement to contact a potential witness and an afternoon search of the reservoir by boat.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office . Rescuers used boats, planes and a drone to try and track down Smith on Sunday without success.

Deputies said Smith left to go fishing on the morning of Oct. 3 and his girlfriend hasn’t heard from him since. His truck was found in the Medicare Beach area, but without an aluminum boat he was carrying.

Monday morning, the sheriff’s office posted to Facebook that deputies were looking for a Yakima man who found Smith’s tackle box and a floatation device from his boat.

According to deputies, Jorge Felix turned in the items on Sunday night, but deputies couldn’t track him down on Monday.

The sheriff’s office Facebook post said there was no evidence of foul play.

Smith is 5-foot-9-inches, weighs 180 pounds and is bald with a white goatee.
