District encourages Spokane Public School parents to sign up for launch conferences

SPOKANE, Wash, – Spokane Public Schools (SPS) start one week from today, and the district is encouraging parents to sign up now to meet their teachers later this week.

It’s an opportunity for parents to sit down with their kids and their teachers to talk about how the school will support their growth.

Parents can ask about anything their kid needs to know, regarding bus routes, meals, grading, etc.

They could talk about who their child is as a person so their teacher can set them up for success in and outside of the classroom. They can talk character traits or personal hobbies.

It could also include a conversation about what your child is interested in and outside of the classroom. Then your teacher can show you programs that are available that your kid might be interest in, to keep them engaged in and out of the classroom.

And of course, parents and students can also tour the school and get their bearings.

The district is encouraging parents to sign up for launch conferences as soon as possible.

Keep in mind that conferences for the following groups are scheduled directly with your teacher or school and you will not use the conference schedule:

PreschoolKindergartenThe Enrichment Cooperative at BryantMultilingual families requesting interpreter services
