SPOKANE, Wash. – A domestic violence suspect is on the run after pointing a gun at someone during a fight Sunday afternoon.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 26, Spokane County deputies responded to reports of a Domestic Violence incident near the 9400 block of East Greenleaf Drive. The victim told law enforcement his son pointed a gun at him during an argument, and it continued to escalate.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect pulled a semi-automatic on the victim, demanding a shotgun from the victim. The victim said he was scared, so he went into a bedroom and armed himself with a loaded shotgun.

Shortly after, the suspect, who appeared unarmed, entered the room and demanded the gun. SCSO said a wrestling match then took place over the weapon, with the suspect gaining control and becoming angry the shotgun was loaded, claiming he ‘would never do that.’

The suspect walked away, but his car was still on the scene. Due to the severe nature of the situation, police established a perimeter and called SWAT to assist.

All attempts to get the suspect to surrender were unsuccessful. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home, surrounding buildings and property. Possible hiding locations were also searched, but the suspect was not found.

This remains under investigation.
