SPOKANE, Wash. – Strong winds are causing disruptions in several areas, with downed trees blocking both directions of Highway 395 near Loon Lake and north of Deer Park.
The wind advisories are expected to remain in effect until early afternoon. Current wind speeds are reaching 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.
In Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, sustained winds are nearing 40 mph. The Palouse region is also experiencing elevated winds, with gusts around 50 mph.
These conditions are expected to persist through lunchtime, with relief anticipated by the evening commute.
However, the impact of the gusty winds is evident with downed trees and potential isolated power outages.
