GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — Four people are injured after a six-car collision in Grant County on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), five cars were traveling northbound on State Route 17 when the vehicle in front slowed down, causing the cars behind them to crash into each other.
Someone driving southbound on State Route 17 was hit by one of the cars going northbound when it swerved out of the way to avoid colliding with the other vehicles.
According to WSP, the cause of this crash was because of the bad visibility caused by an ongoing dust storm. No drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision, and only one person was not wearing a seatbelt.
The gave a warning for dust storms Sunday afternoon. The warning applies to I-90 near Ritzville, Sprague and Lind. During these storms, drivers are cautioned to be very aware of the roads.
