GENESEE, Idaho – A caused a 60 car pileup crash on US Highway 95 near Genesee.
According to Idaho State Police, the first crash took place at around 2:30 p.m. ad left 60 vehicles piled up on southbound Highway 95 for a mile, causing several injuries.
It took over an hour, the work of state police, the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho Transportation Department to clear a single southbound lane. By 5:50 p.m., all traffic was cleared.
Three people were sent to the hospital as a result of the crash, and at least 9 individual car crashes were determined to have caused the chain-reaction pileup.
